One Dead in Courthouse Shooting

Suspect in custody, motive unknown

One person is dead and several others are injured after a shooting at a courthouse in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.

The shooting occurred at around 9:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect entered the courthouse and opened fire with a handgun.

One person was killed and four others were injured, including a security guard.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

The courthouse has been closed and all employees and visitors have been evacuated.

The LAPD is investigating the shooting.
