Arsenal v Liverpool in the FA Cup 2023/24 Season
Liverpool Strike Late to Beat Arsenal
Liverpool reached the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Reds struck twice late on through Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino to secure their place in the next round. The win means Liverpool are still in four competitions this season after a brilliant fightback.
Liverpool have now won 79 games against Arsenal, with the Gunners winning 66 and 54 draws.
Arsenal and Liverpool have won 22 FA Cups between them, and their meeting in the third round was one of the most anticipated ties of the competition.
Liverpool started the game brightly and could have taken the lead early on when Mohamed Salah hit the post. Arsenal grew into the game and created several chances of their own, but they were unable to find the back of the net.
The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to win the game. However, it was Liverpool who struck late on to secure the victory.
The win is a big boost for Liverpool, who have been in poor form in recent weeks. It will also give them confidence ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.
